Mid Sussex Rural Partnership
Focusing on young people living in rural villages.
Aim
To create support for sustainable youth provision in the
rural villages of Mid Sussex which is Community influenced/led
focusing on young people’s needs by working with Parish Councils
and local communities.
Partners
Mid Sussex District Council – Facilitating the
Partnership and providing knowledge and advice of the area to
enable the partnership to be sustainable and develop.
WSCVYS - Our purpose is to improve and enrich
the lives of children and young people through supporting the
development of a vibrant and diverse sector. We offer
support, advice and guidance, including relevant training courses,
to voluntary and community organisations responding to their
needs.
AirS – Action in rural Sussex was established
in 1931 as Sussex Rural Community Council and has worked with rural
communities since then. Our vision for Sussex is that it is a place
where an inclusive, active, community life is valued equally
alongside economic success and environmental protection, and where
all three are pursued together.
WSCC – Voluntary Liaison Worker – The Voluntary
Sector Advisors (VSA’s) from West Sussex County Council (WSCC),
Youth Support and Development Services (YSDS) can be contacted for
information, advice and guidance on a variety of subjects whether
it is about an existing youth project or about starting a brand new
youth project. VSA can offer specialist advice and support to new
and emerging projects to aid initiation and capacity building to be
sustainable for the longevity of the projects future.
SCYP - Sussex Clubs for Young People – To
offer Free, Local and National Membership to any youth
group/organisation in Sussex. This is available currently
until 31st March 2012. The benefits include: Access to
subsidised activity programme, opportunities for activities for a
youth club session, Sports competitions and tournaments, Arts
competitions, Activity Camp weekends, Training programmes,
Networking opportunities, Advice and Support, Club Insurance
Scheme, Access to the Lions ‘Adopt a Youth Club’ programme.

‘Getting it Right’ Minimum best practice guidelines for working
with Children & Young People in the Voluntary and Community
Sector – on Tuesday 20 March 2012 - 7.00pm to 9.00pm at MSDC

An introductory session for people working in – or considering
working in the Voluntary and Community Sector with children and
young people in either a paid or voluntary position.
(Suitable for: management committee members, trustees, those who
are thinking of setting up a new project/activity, community
members and parents).
