Plumpton College

The College specialises in providing a wide range of land-based courses in partnership with schools, for those in further education and for those in higher education. The College degree courses are provided in association with the University of Brighton.

The College’s main site is at Plumpton with out-centres at Netherfield (near Battle), Robertsbridge, Flimwell and Stanmer Park, Brighton.

College viewThe main College is situated in the centre of the College's 900 hectare estate, close to Brighton and London, itself one of the major international market places for wine. Plumpton College offers unique Degree courses in wine. There are excellent practical and demonstration facilities for students in their area of study. Student residential accommodation available, both on-campus and at The University of Brighton campus for HE students. Plumpton Green village is nearby, where there is a local shop, post office and bus and train services. Local bus routes service the College.  The tuition offered is excellent, with successful employment rates.

The range of courses cover all land-based provision including Agriculture, Horticulture, Floristry, Greenkeeping, Hard Landscaping, Equine, Agricultural and Horticultural Machinery, Metalsmithing, Animal Care and Veterinary Nursing, Countryside Management, Forestry and Arboriculture, Sports (Outdoor Education), Wine and Viticulture, and Rural Business Management.

Level 2 Vocational Courses for learners who are 16 and staying on at Sixth Form school or SF College. Level 2 Extended Certificates in: Countryside and Environment/Forestry/Horticulture/Horse Care/Vehicle Technology, with BTEC/C&G as appropriate

Animal CareCourses in these subjects are offered from school programmes through Entry and Introductory levels; Level 2 (equivalent to GCSEs), Level 3 (equivalent to A level), Foundation Degree to Degree Level. Plumpton College is a partner college of the University of Brighton.

Taster courses for school students in years 9/10/11 take place during February, June and October each year. These are free taster courses for secondary pupils. These generally take place during the school holidays and allow students an introduction to a wide range of courses, all within a friendly College environment.

The Information Morning

Plumpton College will be hosting an Information Morning on Saturday 3 March, from 9.00am to 12.30pm. Visitors will discover the range of land based courses, employer training and apprenticeships. 

Staff will be available to offer free courses information and careers advice as well as facilities tours. Student ambassadors will also be on hand to inform about student life at Plumpton College.

The Open Day

Saturday 12 May 2012, 9.00am to 5.00pm. Cost: £5, adult. Free entry for under 16s. This is an ideal opportunity to visit the college to experience the diversity of courses.
