Targeted Youth Support

Target 4 Teens logoTarget 4 Teens

The County Council is committed to supporting young people with a range of complex needs.  As a part of this  the Youth Support and Development Service has designed key programmes that will help you make, and deal with, difficult decisions that will have an everlasting effect on your lives.

Each programme is designed to suit your needs and on completion you will be awarded a qualification. They all run at different times and locations throughout the county.

Through taking part in the programmes you will develop skills in different areas. For example you may learn how to live independently, or become more confident, manage difficult relationships, or understand and manage your feelings.

Domestic Abuse Recovery Programme (DARP)

This is an essential programme for you if you are aged 13 to 16 and have previously experienced living with domestic violence/abuse. The aim is to provide a group work service for you if you have lived with domestic violence/abuse and to help you to understand and cope with what has happened in your family.

This group is not suitable for young people currently living with domestic violence/abuse as the anger of the violent person at home may be evoked if it is feared that the young person is given an opportunity to share their experiences of violence in the home. If you are in this position please contact Childline 0800 1111, NSPCC 0808 800 5000, National Domestic Violence 24 hr Helpline 0808 2000 247.
