About Youth Cabinet
The West Sussex Youth Cabinet is a group of democratically elected young people whose job it is to help other young people across the county and to represent their views and concerns. They do this by:
- Helping young people with any problems they have;
- Representing young people at meetings and events, where previously they might have been forgotten;
- Voicing young people’s opinions so that adults consider them and young people too;
- Informing young people about important issues (political and social);
- Running events to inform young people and help them have a say;
- Producing films, radio broadcasts and podcasts, animations, games, posters, leaflets etc… to raise awareness of issues that are important to young people.
The Youth Cabinet was the driving force behind the highly successful '3 in 1 card' - which, amongst other things, will give you discounted bus travel.
The Youth Cabinet is structured in order to make it democratically
and
geographically representative of all young people in the county. This
means that it is now more focused on hearing as many young people's
views as possible, from as many different areas and as many different
social groups.
The Youth Cabinet is democratically elected and ANYONE is allowed to stand as a candidate providing
that you are:
- 11-19;
- Living or studying in West Sussex.
It is their job to represent you. Use the form below to get in touch and let them know what you have to say and what you want done.
We want to hear from you about what issues you think the Youth Cabinet should be tackling and how we should be tackling them.
