The Youth Support and Development Service has to make
changes to the way it delivers services to young people following
changes in legislation and funding. We also need to develop how
West Sussex County Council (WSCC) can work together with local
communities to provide the services they need. The public
consultation is now completed about the changes WSCC is proposing
to make to the services it provides for young people and
communities.
Overall the consultation shows a clear understanding of what
people perceive to be the important services for young people, and
that they are valued and respected. Going forward it will be
important for communities to continue to offer opportunities for
all young people, helping them to overcome their needs as they
develop and grow from adolescence into adulthood. By working
closely in a coordinated way with the right support mechanisms,
West Sussex County Council and communities can continue to develop
and provide quality services whilst making the financial
savings.
West Sussex Youth Support and Development Service would like to
thank all those who have taken time to respond to this
consultation.
The consultation report is now available and can be downloaded
from this page under 'related documents'.
