What is the Purple Bus?
The Purple Bus has been providing quality youth work in rural
areas of West Sussex since 1995. Young people were involved in the
design of the vehicle and it is packed full with information,
activities and resources that address the needs of young
people.
Staffed by the West Sussex Youth Service and owned by a
charitable trust, the Bus trundles around West Sussex visiting
small rural towns and villages that have little or no other
facilities for teenagers.
We work in several villages at a time visiting each village 1
evening a week for a term. Young people come to the Bus, we get to
know them and together we decide on what they want to do and what
they want to know about.
On the Purple Bus we use loads of tools and resources to have
fun and look at issues that effect young people aged 12 to 19.
